Fall 2025
Be Your Own Daddy
Let go of stories about what it “should" mean to be an artist or writer, and become the authority in your own creative practice.
PROGRAM DATES: October 7-28, 2025, plus one 1-on-1 session this Fall
Register by 9pm ET on October 5
Take part in four live, online workshops with creativity coach Catherine LaSota, plus a 1-on-1 session for personalized support.
Examine the creative goal posts you've been holding onto that just aren't serving you.
Say goodbye to other people's versions of creative success, and take steps to find true satisfaction in your own creative practice.
Who's your daddy, and why isn't it you?
Here we are, living in late stage capitalism and a longstanding patriarchal society, both of which have given us lots of harmful power structures and authority figures that don't serve us or our creativity. But guess what? Those systems are breaking down.
It's time to get in touch with your own inner authority and make the creative future you want! In this program, we're going to dive deep with writing prompts to get you in touch with your unique path…and we may look to the good ol' “daddy planet” Saturn for some inspiration. Why not? Let's make some new systems, that work for you.
You can build the creative life you desire
Whether you're a writer, a visual artist, a performer…a creative practitioner of any kind, really…you are surrounded by stories of what it means to be successful in your field:
“Publish a book with xyz publisher.”
“Have a solo gallery show by such-and-such an age.”
“Wake at 5am every morning to dedicate yourself to your craft.”
Nonsense.
Each of us has our own capacities and dreams and activities that bring us fulfillment. YOU have a unique creative vision, and part of your job of being an artist is to trust your own authority in your creative practice, and build from there.
